Ere Perez

Dear Friends and Readers,

Happy 2021, Valentine’s Day and President’s day! In the last few weeks a lot has happened. I hope that this blog post and this blog can bring a little bit of distraction from what is happening in the world.

Recently I have become smitten with Ere Perez a green beauty brand based out of Australia, and have started playing with a number of their products. I wanted to share a little bit about the company and the products that I am using, and maybe turn you on to something new for your arsenal of makeup to face the day - so here goes!

A little about the brand: Ere and her husband Juan are the co-founders of this clean beauty brand that was started in 2004 and that is based in Australia with roots in Mexico. The company considers itself an international brand with offices both in Sydney Australia and Monterrey Mexico. Ere started out with a degree in nutrition but comes from a family of healers who used traditional well being practices in Mexico. Their company’s philosophy: is to use natural ingredients at an affordable price. Over the years we have evolved to incorporate values which include accreditations like cruelty free, carbon neutral, and other actions that focus on sustainability and fair trade.

I have known about Ere Perez for a while, and was so intrigued by their products that I decided to take the plunge and get a few of them after reading about them online. Some of my purchases were around eye products and now I have morphed into their foundation - but I am getting a head of myself.

So…here are my thoughts and reviews of the products I am currently using:

Ere Perez Jojoba Eye Pencil in Bronze…..$25.00 A beautiful eye pencil that glides on with no issues. Gorgeous color, last most of the day. I like this pencil a lot because it gives a lovely, natural finish. A winner for me - and something that I will continue to purchase. If you are tired of hard, not easy to use eye pencils - check this one out.

Ere Perez Almond Brow Pencil in Almond….$21.00 Another winner. One shade that is universal and imparts a natural looking color. Again the ease of use is wonderful and the way that it gives a natural fullness to the brows is great. I love the little brush tool that comes on the end of the clear cap. No Glycol, paraffin or lead - just healthy.

Ere Perez Aloe Gel Lash and Brow Mascara…..$24.00. A clean/green replacement to the Maybelline Great Lash Clear drugstore product of old. This clear gel is great to give your brows definition and staying power as well as a coat on your eyelashes, gives a more ‘awake look’ if you want to forgo the usual hassle of mascara.

Ere Perez Oatmilk Foundation in Chai…..$36.99 This I believe is one of the stand out products in the line! A beautiful, buildable foundation that feels amazing going on - did I mention that all their products feel beautiful when they touch the skin? Paraben, sulfate and cruelty-free, along with standout ingredients such as: oat milk, Vitamin E and peach! This makeup is meant to nourish your skin, not just hide imperfections. But the opacity of the product can hide a multitude of sins as well. I use this as both a concealer under the eyes and around the nose as well as a regular foundation on my forehead and chin - to even me out. One thing that I have learned - this is considered by the company to be the ‘heavier’ of the two foundations that they offer - however, upon talking to other people, this seems to be the ‘lighter’ more buildable foundation of the two. You can decide which foundation is better suited to your skin care needs. The only other disclaimer that I have to mention is that they don’t have a lot of color choices for this particular foundation - 6 in my last count. I hope that they bring more colors to the line - especially for us neutral and pinkish complexions!

On my wishlist:

Papaya SOS Marmalade and the Australian Blue Cypress Face Nectar - these two products look and seem so beautiful for the skin. And in the last few years , I have begun to think like the French - great skin is really all the foundation that you need. And a little concealer and color here and then just to emphasize your inner glow! I have heard that some of the products have to be bought directly from the Ere Perez website and not carried state side - yet! Hoping that will start to change in 2021!!
