Kari Gran - Echo Lux Skin Care

One of the skincare lines that I have had the longest relationship with is Kari Gran, an echo lux skin care regime based in Seattle. I started using their products about 5 years ago and haven’t yet grown tired of what these little bottles in black are able to do for my skin.

I also have a great fondness for the founder of the line Kari Gran herself whom I had the pleasure of meeting at a skincare event hosted by Credo Beauty in San Francisco a few years back.

Two of the many reasons that I have such an affinity for the line is the first being that the brand’s name sake Kari herself established the brand after suffering in her 20’s from an autoimmune disease, and coming to understand that the expensive brands that she was using were possibly having a direct correlation on her health. The second reason is that this is one of the first brands that I am familiar with,that is targeted for the skincare needs of older women. A consumer group that has been woefully under represented in the market place.

Today I am going to focus on some of the skincare from this line that I use. In a future blog post I will talk about their organic makeup.

Their skincare regime encompasses 3 products: Cleansing Oil, Hydrating Tonic, and the Essential Serum and is, in the verbiage of one of my favorite vloggers: my holy grail.

The Cleansing Oil, retail $35.00 Chock full of nourishing oils for the skin such as sunflower, avocado and vitamin E oil, this potion is amazing. Not only does it wipe away grim it soothes the skin and leaves it feeling dewy and hydrated. Kari suggests that for a spa experience to run a wash cloth under hot (not scalding) water, and then place the warm cloth on your face and let the heat and wash cloth do most of the work by opening and cleaning your pores..

The Hydrating Tonic retail $38.00 This tonic comes in two scents: Rose and Lavender! I simply adore the Rose, and have tried to recreate her Bulgarian Rose Otto scent numerous times for my own use - but unfortunately have never quite got it right. This tonic creates a mist of hydration that you can use either to refresh your skin throughout the day, as a setting tonic over your mineral based makeup or combine it with your essential serum to get even more moisture to thirsty skin.

The Essential Serum retail $60.00 With 15 organic ingredients you can’t go wrong! Containing jojoba, seabuckhorn, and avocado oil to name a few - this serum leaves your face refreshed, and hydrated. You can use this serum in conjunction with the tonic in the morning under makeup as your moisturizer and at night to help in getting valuable oils deep into the skin! And also don’t forget your neck and decolletage!
