So excited for this post! One of my beauty highs and sometimes lows is: my hair! Blessed with thick, curly, kinky hair (3B for those of you who follow curly hair websites) I am always on the look out for natural hair care products for curly hair that are both healthy AND can also do the job! Sometimes I have found on my quest for the perfect product, something that will do the trick, but also has a lot of long words that I can’t pronounce and that is probably not so great for my immune system. Many times I will google the ingredients and be shocked at what they contain: ingredients that will prolong the shelf life of the product; but won’t be great for my shelf life. Or dyes and colors and harsh perfumes that can make me have an asthma attack.
Luckily for me I came across a lovely brand called Innersense Organic Beauty , in my opinion one of the best organic hair brands out there, that has helped me take care of my curly hair and doesn’t hurt my insides. And the smell is DIVINE.

Two of the hair care products in the line that I use religiously are their whipped creme texturizer called: Inner Peace and their I Create Hold a styling gel.
Whipped Creme Texturizer
This product has literally changed my life. Especially good for curly girls who are looking for weight to hold down the fly-aways and frizzes but also want a taming product to keep the bounce in their curl with out flakes on their clothing. A definite ‘holy grail product’ that I seem to reach for again and again. Made with Certified Organic Shea Butter, Organic Honey and Orange Flower Oil, this creme is amazing at creating hold, separation and definition anywhere it’s desired.
How I use it: On wet hair, I rub it into my hands and then smooth and rake over my curls - especially in the back of my head where the curls seem to be more unruly and frizz prone. This is also a great product to calm the hair around my face as well. One caveat this product may not be for my straight haired sisters - as it might be too heavy for your type of hair. Oh and the smell is divine!
A lovely gel that gets the job done for us curly natural gals that are looking for a medium to hard hold. Made with Certified Organic Honey that serves as a natural resin to create style sustainably, and Organic Aloe and Orange to give hair strength and fullness while smelling amazing. In all honesty this was the harder of the two products for me to figure out. But after reading a number of reviews online I think the trick with this product is to emulsify it first (rub it between your palms to activate product ingredients).
How I use: I prefer the ‘prayer’ method of application which is smoothing it on different sections of hair with hands palm to palm, ( or finger to finger) rather than the ‘scrunch’ method. Also I like this product on WET hair not damp - again this is a personal preference.
