As many of you know I do not wash my face in the morning, due to the fact that for me and my skin, I don’t think it is necessary to cleanse away what happened overnight to my face. This is me, you know your skin better than anyone so you need to make the call as to what feels healthy for you.

In the morning I have started a little routine, which I would like to share with you. And please, let me know your routine!

In the morning I spray on a wonderful hydrosol by Moutain Rose Herbs: I either use the Rose (recommended for mature skin) or the Helichrysum hydrosol (also great for fine lines) on my skin. To learn more about hydrosols please look at my previous post. Hydrosols can be considered a toner: imparting on to the skin nutrients from the plants that they are derived from. Simply put, a plant is put in a still with water, when the plant is steamed it releases oils and nutrients. Then that water solution is brought down to a normal temp and we can use what is left behind on our skin. Hydrosols should be stored in a cool, dark place and they are pretty much universally safe for all users. Mountain Rose Herbs Hydrosol in Rose…..$4.50.

Then I spray on La Roche Posay’s Thermal Water…$12.99. God this feels divine. And all it is is water that emanates deep in the earth that is full of minerals and that you spray directly on the skin. So soothing! To me, there is nothing like thermal water. For a while people were using it on planes to hydrate their skin. My only bit of wisdom is that: two sprays a day is probably enough - as too much can be drying to the skin.

Then I follow that with my Living Libations Soothsayer Serum….$46.80 (on sale right now) a wonderful serum that is just absolutely lovely on the skin! If you have a moment read my previous blog post on Living Libations a Canadian skincare company started by Nadine Artemis. This magical serum softens the appearance of scars and smooths the skins texture. Contains jojoba, rose Otto, carrot seed, turmeric and seabuckthorn oil to name a few of the oils in this lovey light serum. My skin drinks it up and feels ready to face the day.

Afterwards a swipe all over of the Dr. Hauschka Regenerating Day Cream…$85.00. Now this has been a recent addition to my daily ritual, due to the fact that the soothsayer serum can leave me looking a bit shiny. So I put on this lovely mattifying day cream, more to tone down the oils from the previous step. But this day cream helps to minimize fine lines that are creeping up around my eyes and on the bridge of my nose….and helps to keep my skin balanced and moisturized. Contains: acerola berries, raspberry seed oil and shea butter along with Jojoba, avocado, sweet almond and olive oils and more and more good stuff that I will let you discover!

And lastly my Kari Gran Essential SPF 28…$48.00 to screen out all the harsh rays that the sun can impart. Another long lasting favorite skincare line and this sunscreen is no exception! Called currently the 365 sun screen. This is a broad spectrum sunscreen that blocks out both UVA and UVB rays, along with with moisturizing the skin with oils and botanicals. Love this one, only draw back to this sunscreen is that it can have a whitish cast on some skin tones……..

Then I give my face a swipe of RMS uncover up, put on some eyebrows, and a reddish lip and I am ready to face the day!!
